A well funded high tech start up in Belgium which focuses on RF Semiconductor ICs for Wireless Communication for 5G infrastructure and automotive markets is looking for a Senior Analog/RF IC Design Engineer to join their growing team in Leuven.
As Senior Analog/RF IC Design Engineer you will be part of the analog RF team, working on the design for the future Infrastructure and automotive IC in state-of-the-art technologies.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Technical design role for multiple components in the transceiver based product development
Guide product development through critical stages including concept/feasibility, development, preproduction, qualification, and production
Baseband/IF/RF circuit design using linear and nonlinear models and 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic simulators
RF test board design, test, characterisation, and data analysis
As a senior design engineer, you will mentor team members in design concepts and best practices
To be considered for this role you have the following skills and experience:
PhD or Master's degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or similar
5+ years of analog/RF experience, with 3+ years in RF CMOS design
Deep understanding of RF building blocks such as LNAs, mixers, VCOs, DCOs, PAs, etc.
Expert understanding of microwave design methodologies comprising: S-parameters, power, efficiency, source/load pull, noise figure, linearity and intermodulation distortion, off-set calculation
Experience in design and productisation of RF/mmWave transceivers in a CMOS technology
Experience in mmWave IC design is a major plus
Knowledge of different communication standards (3GPP, IEEE...), carrier specifications and the ability to translate system requirements into circuit requirements in collaboration with system engineers
Understanding of RF transceiver architectures and trade-offs
Expert understanding of transistor small and large signal behavioural characteristics
